The photos you took for our wedding are just phenomenal – I have recommended you to anyone who will listen, not only for your incredible photo skills, but also your ability to be such a calm and rational presence. I don’t think I’ve ever clicked with someone so quickly, and on such an emotionally filled day!”

Marquee Wedding in Churt

The last of the Summer sunshine…I’ve made it no secret that May and September are my favourite months, Spring and the promise of Summer, and of course the last snippets of beautiful Indian sunshine that we only see in September. I can’t lie that when I see the late Summer planting in a garden and dahlias making their way into a bouquet that I feel it’s going to be a good day. And what a day Nicola & Rob had!

I simply adore weddings at home. The hustle and bustle of just about everyone getting involved in absolutely everything, oftentimes with too many cooks but once you look back, you see it’s all part of the fun, the story and the memories. Nicola’s family home is in extreme close proximity to the beautiful St John’s Church in Churt. I hadn’t photographed there for eleven years which seems mad to me, but what a community. SO welcoming, so beautiful and nestled in such an idyllic corner of this cherished village. If you asked ChatGPT what a perfect English countryside wedding would look like, I’m sure it would come up with this blog post.

Nicola and her stunning band of maids got ready at home, with an approximately two minute stroll to the church. Nicola’s dress was nothing short of perfection, fitting her like a glove, and accoumpanied by the perfect accoutrements of jewellery and shoes. You can see just how effortlessly cool she looks in just about every single photo! I loved Nicola’s style, all her bridesmaids wore varying shades of pink and red, each of them laden with utterly beautiful bouquets. I love when a bride looks out for her girls too!

The ceremony was a gorgeous mix of giggles, tears (from Dad) and incredible descants mid hymn from Nicola – honestly she has some voice! Incredible. I will always love a music-filled service and this one did not disappoint!

We dodged most of the rain showers in the reception and enjoyed the gardens, canapés and a quick wander into the wooded area for their couple session. I was delighted to see the sunshine return for some fun shots with Rob’s beautiful E-Type, a gift from his Grandfather. I can’t finish this blog without mentioning the absolute whopper of a set of speeches. Truly amazing effort from all involved, special mention to the bridesmaids who also sang an Abba number with their own verses about Nicola – SO good! The party kicked off after a sparkler run (such a great way to enter for your first dance!) and I had to painfully drag myself home even after staying later because I was simply having too much fun.

Incredible day, the best people, and easily a favourite wedding of 2025. Never felt luckier, and SO excited that 2026 holds many more of the same. Here are my favourites from their day! x
