“These photos are incredible!! Thank you so much for capturing the day perfectly, it really felt like we were reliving the day when going through them last night. Maddie is addicted to your photos, I fell asleep with her looking at them and woke up to her looking through them again, I don’t know if she even went to sleep last night!” – M&A

Oh where to begin, when I first worked at the beautiful Little Dower House in 2023, I knew it was something a little special. Nestled in the heart of Old Windsor, neighbouring a certain iconic singer, who ‘on occasion pops in to say hello’ (Sadly not this time!) this precious 12 acre home belongs to Hamish & Susie, proud owners and ultra hard-workers. They maintain their beautiful grounds with the help of their son and you simply couldn’t ask for a more ‘homespun but without the drama’ style wedding venue.
It’s never a question when I see couples like Maddie and Antony as to why they chose this venue, and I was simply giddy to be asked to capture their day. Two incredible people, M&A found happiness a few years ago, and have been through more than most would in such young lives. It was the biggest pleasure being invited in to share their beautiful day!
Maddie and her gorgeous girls in pink got ready on site at one of the lovely properties Little Dower House has to offer. It has gorgeous light with triple aspect windows and even a balcony, so it’s perfect for photos/make up etc!
Antony’s father was their celebrant on the day which was so sweet and emotional of course, he was a natural and I know the couple will remember those words forever. Two brilliant readings by their siblings and a hop skip and a jump to the drinks garden followed. The light was perfect all day and evening, I know this venue suits better weather so to be able to use all the grounds was incredibly lucky!
A break from tradition, we chose to have confetti ahead of their entrance to the wedding breakfast which actually worked really well and meant no hanging around after the ceremony waiting for people to line up, definitely recommend this to any future couples!
The speeches, I can’t finish this round up without mentioning them. From Maddie’s heartfelt and very moving speech in the garden, to her father’s where he brought out a build-a-bear complete with 5 year old Maddie’s voice, they were some of the best I’d heard! Brilliant set all round and what an evening it was that followed!
We took the obligatory wander around the front of the property for golden hour photos, of course with the stunning view of Windsor Castle in the background. The outdoor games were a triumph, the orange wine flowed, and the giant Tiramisu wedding cake was cut. My time was up after a few dance-floor shenanigans and it genuinely felt hard to say goodbye to these two. I’ve been so lucky to receive some kind gifts of thanks by not only Maddie & Ant but her family too, it made me feel incredibly lucky to have met this family. what a joyful way to spend a Saturday in July!
Thanks also must go to Olly who second shot for me giving me some wonderful extra imagery in the reception when I was busy elsewhere.
My favourite thing about finding special venues to work at, is I know they’ll always attract the best couples. And I am delighted to be heading back next Summer! Thank you M&A and of course LDH, love you all! x
